Internal Comms: Information Sharing: Securing Candidate Data 101

Project type

Accenture Training Content

Date

November 2023

A little context...

I've been tasked with writing an article highlighting the significance of confidentiality in sharing candidate information, serving as an introduction to a broader company training video.

Published: Training Material

In the fast-paced world of Accenture recruitment, storing and sharing CVs and other confidential information are tasks we're all familiar with, so to make sure you're keeping secure in your day-to-day processes, follow this as a guide:

1. Know the Data Classification and standard of protection required

Ask yourself, who is the content being shared with?
What kind of content is being shared?
Does it need to be classified as confidential or protected for internal use?

More details on the different data classifications and protections can be found here.

2. Know Your content

Not all emails and documents require the same classification. Is there mention of salary or details/ data that can be used to influence business or hiring decisions?
We need to classify based on the sensitivity and confidentiality of an email or document.

3. Audience and Destination

Before you hit 'send,' on an email or decide to store a document, ask yourself:
Is it personal data or just general skills?
Is it meant for public viewing or strictly internal eyes at a certain career level?
Could the content influence hiring decisions significantly and am I sending it to the right person?...
