Being social is part of being human and working in a large, global, remote team like the Sourcing Hub offers incredible opportunities to tap into diverse perspectives, skills, and experiences of others. Also, remote work has become an essential way to collaborate across borders and time zones, however, it also comes with its unique set of challenges.

One powerful way to foster unity and maximise productivity within such teams is by engaging in the process of meeting new team members and understanding our differences.

But how do you get to know 80+ people?

Well, let’s explore some ways to meet at least 1 person! We'll also look at the benefits of meeting other team members and how they can help us cope with anything we face as a supportive community.

1. Europe Sourcing Newsletter - We will include a 'Meet the Team' section in the newsletter showcasing the forms of interesting facts several of you have filled! (Read, react and reach out!)

2. Sourcing Hub Coffee Roulette - The small but powerful team behind this initiative do well to create a schedule enabling new conversations on new topics every month!

3. A message in the #EuropeSourcingBantz Teams chat - You never know who has experienced the same thing as you; if you’re facing a challenge or have some good news to share, drop it in the chat, people react and respond publicly and privately.

And what exactly is the power and benefit of meeting team members?

1. Creating a Sense of Belonging
In a remote team, it's easy to feel isolated and disconnected from colleagues who may be thousands of miles away. When we take time to understand each other's backgrounds, cultures, and values, it helps to make everyone feel valued.

This, in turn, leads to improved collaboration, and increased motivation to work together effectively.
